Shock raises chlorine to 10 ppm to kill bacteria and algae before closing. Algaecide prevents algae growth over winter. The winterizer provides slow-release protection for 3–6 months under the cover.
If pH or alkalinity are out of range, the calculator includes adjustment doses. Balanced water over winter prevents corrosion of pool surfaces and equipment. Always run the pump for 1 hour after adding chemicals before installing the cover.
